Shelby County Government Partners with CR Software

Fairfax, VA, August 10, 2011 – CR Software, the world's leading collections and receivables management software supplier and Shelby County Government, Trustee Office, one of the largest county treasuries in the state of Tennessee, today announced their decision to use the Titanium ORE software platform for tax collection processing.

Headquartered in Memphis, TN with offices across the county, Shelby County Government is a leader in tax collection and technology applications. Awarded the National Association of Counties Achievement Award for Financial Management for the development and use of a Mobile Cashiering program, they offer a multitude of benefits to their citizenship.

The services of the Office of the Trustee include the billing and collection of county property taxes, billing and collection of current and/or delinquent taxes for municipalities and receipt and distribution of other county funds.

“We’re very excited about working with CR Software,” said Debra Gates, Chief Administration Officer for Shelby County. “The versatility and flexibility of this platform was obvious from the beginning, and we immediately recognized the potential it offers us,” she continued.

Collecting $2.5 billion each year, Shelby County aggressively pursues new, proven technologies in order to best serve their citizens. Kiosks and mobile cashiering are located throughout the county, in libraries, senior citizen centers and municipal buildings, as part of the county’s effort to make tax payments more convenient.

The county is compliant with the standards put in place by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and waiting for full certification and Record of Compliance (ROC).

“We’re pleased to be joining forces with Shelby County,” said CR Software CEO Martin Germanis. “They’re technologically very savvy, which makes us a good fit. We’ve already talked in great detail about their implementation and although there’s a lot of work to be done, they’re a very knowledgeable group. We expect they’ll be making full use of the functionality that Titanium offers.”

“The workflow, scalability and flexibility in this system compliments our high, taxpayer-focused standards,”added Gates, “offering more payment and self-service options, enhanced ability to utilize communication channels and more sophisticated reports.”
